Ms Zita Hansungule

Senior Project Coordinator, Center for Child Law (CCL), University of Pretoria

Ms. Zita Hansungule is the Senior Project Co-ordinator for the Centre for Child Law's Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Project. Her work involves carrying out and commissioning research on child law and children's rights issues; engaging with the child right's sector on issues and challenges of concern that require advocacy and/or litigation intervention; engaging in advocacy efforts on child right's issues; and engaging with government and the legislature. Ms. Hansungule worked at the Centre for Child Law, as a project co-ordinator, from 2012 to 2015. In 2016, she took part in a year programme run by the South African Constitutional Court and was a legal researcher to Justice Bess Nkabinde. Ms. Hansungule returned to the Centre for Child Law in 2017. Ms. Hansungule has produced written academic outputs on children’s rights. Ms. Hansungule holds a Master’s in Laws degree from the University of Pretoria -  her dissertation focused on the rights of children with disabilities, including children with emotional and behavioural difficulties that are often in conflict with the law. Ms. Hansungule holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Pretoria.
