Her Excellency Mrs. Oumou Touré Traoré is the Minister for the Promotion of Women, Children and the Family for the Republic of Mali. She graduated from the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENSUP). In 1995, she created a community development NGO called "Woiyo Kondeye," which in Songhaï means "space for reflection and mutual aid with women".
Very committed to women's organizations, Mrs. Oumou Touré Traoré, was elected in 1998 Executive Secretary of the Coordination of Associations and Women's NGOs of Mali (CAFO). CAFO is a non-governmental organization created on 20 October, 1991 by four women's associations in Mali (COFEM, APDF, CADEF and the women's branch of the National Union of Workers of Mali). Then in 2008, she was re-elected president of the organization composed of 2295 associations and women's NGOs covering the national territory.
